Workshop Details

During our time together, we will practice building rainbow-sized watercolor palettes with magical results.  With our newly acquired color confidence under our belts, we will develop our illustrative skills by working small and imagining BIG. We'll also spend time taking bits and pieces of patterned paper, ribbon and old book pages to create one of my signature story blocks that will serve as our inspiration piece to illustrate pale indigo bears, rainbow-colored penguins, salmon-hued seals and lovely narwhals. We'll add a thoughtful little story and you'll take home a beautiful, matted mixed-media illustration that tells the story of your everyday with color, words, bitty illustrations and lots of layers.  

In this 2+ day workshop, you'll learn basic watercolor washes (learning the tools of the trade), mixing BIG, harmonious watercolor palettes, illustrative  sketching, imaginative small-scale drawing, and combining watercolor into mixed-media pieces, sewing paper and other ephemera.

Friday    4-7ish pm 

We will gather Friday late afternoon at the beautiful Wacky Nut Farm for a meet and greet, wine and cheese social hour.  Let's get to know each other a bit before we delve into our creative endeavors. After dinner, we'll have a short creative lesson from Danielle. 

Saturday~ 10-1pm   workshop

Sunday~   10-1 pm  workshop

What's included ~

The price for this unique and intimate workshop is $475. The workshop fee includes:

* 2+ days of art workshops with Danielle

 * wine and cheese welcome + 

   dinner Friday night

  

* delicious homemade lunch Saturday

   and Sunday

* support and creative guidance

* extra studio time at night if desired

* a beautiful, peaceful setting with
   walking trails, gardens and beaches
   close by. 

 *Lodging is not included in the retreat price. The guest house at Wacky Nut Farm has 2 gorgeous bedrooms with a queen size bed each, as well as a deluxe bunk room that sleeps 2 very comfortably.  Each room has their own bathroom!! These rent for $125 and $75 a night respectively.  First come first serve.  Upon registering, please email me if you'd like to rent a room at the farm.  They are giving us special workshop rates and I encourage you to take advantage of this offer.  The guest house is beautiful!  First come, first serve.  Please email me upon registering to reserve a room.
